Celebrating 25 Years as a vibrant part of the Tonbridge community
Unlike The Play That Goes Wrong, our trip to London went like clockwork. We had been concerned that there would be engineering work as we were travelling on a Sunday. We need not have worried, the train was on time, the members were punctual, and we were all able to sit in the same compartment, giving us time to make new acquaintances. By the time we alighted at Charing Cross, some of the group had arranged to have lunch together. On arriving at the small theatre, I was able to meet and greet the people who had travelled independently.
The play was hilarious from start to finish. The small cast worked their socks off in true slapstick tradition. Their timing was impeccable. The scenery was amazing, we wondered how it stood being knocked around and falling down during every performance. It was quite exhausting just watching the cast being thrown through windows, falling off balconies, not to mention being murdered.
We all came out with smiles on our faces, and luckily, we had an uneventful journey home. Our next theatre trip is to see The Score, a completely different genre to look forward to.
