Carole built it with heart.
Carole has led Accidental Chefs with enthusiasm, warmth and great humour for many years creating a welcoming atmosphere that has inspired many. There have been many memorable moments including the famous chocolate cake that came out of the oven missing one rather important ingredient – the sugar! But perhaps that simply proves that even experienced cooks can have the occasional ‘accident’ in Accidental Chefs.
Carole is stepping down as leader but isn't disappearing – she'll remain a valued member of the group. We thank her for her positive impact on the world and commitment. We'll miss her leadership and we know she'll miss running it too.
Chris discovered u3a and found new friends Chris joined Tonbridge u3a after moving to Hildenborough when her husband retired. After years of work, volunteering at Ightham Mote and coping with Covid, retirement left her feeling a little lost. A u3a Open Day changed everything. "I was blown away by the variety of groups." I joined the book club straight away and eventually joined several others. I now seem to be busy all the time and have made some good friends” Chris is looking forward to the next chapter and continuing all the things that make Accidental Chefs such a special part of Tonbridge u3a.
The recipe for our success Good food – planned with care Great company – friendships that grow Plenty of laughter – it's good for you! A spirit of adventure, trying new things We make the atmosphere everyone has a place at the table Passionate leaders – sharing the love
