Discovering the Far East

Details:

Members of the Group have a variety of eclectic interests in the wider Far East Region. Previous meetings have covered topics ranging from the Chinese Language to the country’s forestry and energy industries, 20th century East Asian leaders, 21st century Hong Kong, presentations by members on their favourite books, newspaper articles, or objects with a Far Eastern theme, films, and a meal to celebrate Lunar New Year. We welcome new members, especially those who would have something to contribute to our programme. There is currently no annual fee, and participants are asked for a modest contribution (not exceeding £4) per session to cover venue hire and refreshment costs. The New Year meal is charged at cost. h. Wheelchair access is possible at the venue.
