Group: Tai Chi & Qi Gong
Meets: Tuesday & Wednesday mornings in term time
Venue: Hall in Tudeley (Tue), Church in Plaxtol (Wed)
Details:
Tai Chi and Qi Gong provide a gentle form of exercise with many health benefits: better balance & concentration, improved muscle control & general well-being. The apparently simple aim of regulating posture, breathing, and mind combine to become an enjoyable challenge.
We hold three sessions for differing levels of experience. These are held weekly on Tuesday mornings in Tudeley.
On Wednesday mornings a small mixed ability session is held in Plaxtol. All sessions are on a term basis: Autumn, Spring and early Summer.
In high summer we enjoy outdoor practice all together in shady Tonbridge Parks. We share costs of hiring the venues. Costs are typically c. £15 for 10 sessions.
When classes are indoors and there are spaces new members are welcome. Although recently it has been necessary to keep a waiting list for beginners.
Past experience is not needed, just an open mind, plenty of perseverance and the ability to exercise standing for an hour.
Though Tai Chi and Qi Gong routines can be adapted participants must take responsibility for their own health issues, modifying movements according to their needs.
