Celebrating 25 Years as a vibrant part of the Tonbridge community
New members may not know that, over the past two decades, many of us were lucky enough to have coach trips to places of interest all over the South East that were organised by the Travel Team.
To the disappointment of many, these sadly came to an end last summer. We are now pleased to say we have a new team, Trips for All, and we hope, as we gain experience, to eventually run a trip a month.
Our first day out will be in June. You will find later in this Journal the application form and details, but to whet your appetite, we will travel by luxury coach from three pickup points directly to the Royal Pavilion in Brighton. Tickets will include entry to the Pavilion and also to the Museum and Art Gallery in the Gardens, which is featuring an exhibition exploring the Mod subculture of the 1960s. After that, you will have free time to spend in the town. There are plenty of places to eat and things to do - strolling along the Promenade, past shops and stalls for ice cream and seafood, round the Lanes for jewellery and fashion, along the Pier or take a bus, or better still the Volk’s Electric Railway to the Marina with its many restaurants, including Wetherspoons! Or if you are looking for more excitement, walk about a half mile along the Promenade to the i360 – book before you travel online and the ticket is £2.00 cheaper than on the day.
Don’t worry if you think you will not know anyone else on the trip – just telephone the organisers or speak to us on the coach and we’ll make sure you soon have a friend or two on the day.
