Celebrating 25 Years as a vibrant part of the Tonbridge community
Tuesday 17 June 2025
Join us for a day at the seaside in Brighton, spending an hour or so at the Pavilion, then maybe another couple of hours at the Museum and Art Gallery. You will then have free time to explore or revisit some of the many attractions that Brighton offers; shopping for jewellery in The Lanes, strolling along The Prom and the Palace Pier with an ice cream, or you could take a trip on the Volk’s Electric Railway along Madeira Drive to the Marina. And there is of course the i360, which you can book in advance online or on the day. There are many cafes, bars and restaurants for lunch in the town, along the Promenade or at the Marina. See further details here.
Timing: The coach will leave Hildenborough Church at 8.30am, Willow Lea at
8.45am and opposite Lidl’s at 9.00am. No comfort stop but toilet on coach. We plan to leave Brighton at 4.30pm and depending on traffic hope to be back in Tonbridge around 6.30pm.
Cost: £39.50 per person which includes entrance to the Pavilion with audio guide and entrance to Museum, coach hire, driver’s gratuity and organisers’ expenses.
Application: full details in the May journal or email us at trips@tonbridgeu3a.uk for details of how to apply. The outing is organised by Hilary Machtus and Sue Terry to whom any queries should be addressed by using the above email address.
If applications exceed capacity on the coach, a ballot will be held on 14 May 2025. You will be notified as soon as possible after that date whether you were successful or not.
If you were unsuccessful, if you pay by BACS your payment will be refunded immediately. If you pay by cheque, it will be returned to you in the stamped addressed envelope you send with your application.
No refund can be made if you need to cancel. You can sell it on, but for insurance reasons ONLY to another member. If you are unable to do so, the organisers may be able to put you in touch with unsuccessful applicants.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Travellers are advised that neither Tonbridge u3a nor the organisers will accept responsibility for any mishaps of whatever nature during the outing.
