Brooklands Museum

This month’s outing is to Brooklands Museum the birthplace of British motorsport, aviation and the home of Concorde.

Step back in time to the days of innovation, determination and record breaking on the site of the world’s first purpose-built race track. Explore the historic site brought to life through interactive collections of motor vehicles, aircraft and real-life experiences. Hear the stories of the pioneering men and women that shaped the world of motoring and aviation. The Museum also has a large collection of London buses. The Museum’s café serves light lunches and refreshments. Discover supersonic flight with Concorde and get up close to the actual aircraft designed, built and flown at Brooklands. You will also have the opportunity to take the Brooklands Concorde Experience and see inside the world's most famous aircraft in this fascinating 25-minute guided tour, which is bookable and payable by you (£6ph) on the day of the visit. Please indicate your possible interest in joining the Concorde Experience on the application form. Further details will be given in the morning on the coach.

THE COST: of this trip will be £32.00 which includes coach hire, Museum entrance and organisers’ expenses.

DEPARTURE: will be from Lidl’s bus stop at 9:45am, Willow Lea bus stop at 10:00am and Hildenborough Church bus stop at 10:15am. We anticipate leaving the Museum at about 3:30pm

Travellers are advised that neither Tonbridge U3A nor the organisers will accept responsibility for any mishap of whatever nature during the outing; you are advised to consider personal insurance cover. A refund will only be possible when the place is taken by another traveller, or where part of the cost is not actually charged. Travellers with mobility, memory or health problems must be accompanied by a friend.
