April News
The Tonbridge u3a choir is back singing again, with a new leader. Covid, and having to say goodbye to our former leader Tim, meant that the choir had a long break and Zoom doesn’t really work for singing! We did get back together last September, thankful that we still had David Fulman as pianist. We were searching in vain for a leader when it was suggested that we approach Maggie Hall who leads the Paddock Wood u3a choir. Maggie is an experienced musician, singer, teacher and choir leader and brings a wealth of expertise with her – and to our joy and relief she agreed to take us on. Our first session with Maggie was great fun and she matches our belief that singing should be enjoyable. Research has shown that it is very beneficial both for health and well being. I think we all went home from our first session with Maggie with a song in our hearts. The choir meets in the Tonbridge on the second and fourth Friday of the month from 10.00am to 12 noon. We are a very sociable group and many members meet beforehand for coffee and a chat. New members are always welcome – no experience necessary and we sing an eclectic mix of light music. We sing in harmony, mostly in 3/4 parts. Contact details are in your Handbook or your April Journal.
